Style Files- bedrooms

Here are some pictures of bedrooms. I love the linens on all of these. I'm a linen freak and love soft lines.

I'm a Scorpio so maybe that's why I LOVE this setup.

This one looks SO plush I just want to jump on the bed and cover up!

I want to sip coffee in this room and watch an old movie.

Traditional show home...

I usually do not like animal prints but oh my, I want to get naked by the fire in this room!

Caribbean vacation anyone?

I want a Victorian!

Pacific Heights is a freaky movie. Owning rental property myself it is a scary reality and hits close to home. The house used in the film is not in Pacific Heights but on Potrero Hill, which is still located in San Fran. It is such a brilliant Victorian.

I love 10 Things I hate about you and yes, it's funny but the sets--awesome! The main characters home is located on N. Junett Street. The porch, oh my the porch...

Also, the Fremont Troll is shown. Beautiful placement in the movie.

Addedum-This one is for Leigh

In my last post I forgot (thanks Leigh for the reminder!) what is probably the best house of 90's family movies. The house used in Father of the Bride! Not only is it totally gorgeous but it's not a movie set. This idyllic home is located in Pasadena, CA.

It was also used in Guess Who starring Bernie Mac and Ashton Kutcher. Yes, it's the same house, they updated since Father of the Bride but it still looks amazing!

Movin' on up!

Freedom has never felt so good! After last night's victory, Mr.Obama and his family will be movin on up to the white house. He has a beautiful house in Chicago but something tells me he is more than happy to be moving. ;)

Here is the Obama home in Kenwood, Chicago.

His changes will start at this well known house and yes, it's white!

It's a great time to be an American!

No way!

My jaw dropped, my stomach dropped. The beautiful cottage in "The Holiday" was just a fake movie set! So much for my dream cottage :(. Well I guess technically it is a movie and movies are fake but aah how lovely it would be. I can just imagine coming home to a nice warm, cozy home, drinking hot tea, getting into the old tub surrounded by rocks with candles and rose petals. Here's what I'm talking about...

This is Cameron Diaz as Amanda Woods soaking in the tub.

The kitchen reminded me of warm cookies, hot coco and a great conversation. Although this is a movie set it feels sooo cozy and inviting. Hollywood's AMAZING!

Oh my beams, I love the fireplace and the not-matching-but-matching furniture. For some reason this bedroom reminds me of Christmas. I want to snuggle up and watch the fire while reading a great book.

The "Rose Hill Cottage" this is really just a plastered facade on an open piece of land...sniff, sniff, tear, tear.

Dan in Real Life
I HAD to find out if this was a fake also because it seemed so original, like it couldn't be. It's not a fake but, it's a summer rental house in Jamestown, Rhode Island. "Riven Rock" is this summer estate's name, on 2 waterfront acres overlooking the "West Passage", includes "Riven Rock", built in 1911, and "Pebble" guest house, rented separately. This is a perfect summer retreat or family reunion setting. The Pebble is heated and is rented in the winter as well as in the summer. It's pretty steep between $5,700-$6200 a week. Hey, at least it's real...
